
NHK Gakuen, which originally started as a correspondence high school, has expanded its lifelong
learning courses to include the element outlined by the Ministry of Education in Japan which
established the Lifelong Learning Bureau in 1988. Lifelong Learning is one of the most important
educational concepts now.
Most of people are willing to study for refreshment, and so many others go on learning in order to
enhance their lives. Some people want to study to improve their skills and knowledge, some to
acquire qualifications or licenses. Older members of society are very eager to learn to make good
